CONFERENCE TO UPDATE LATEST ADVANCES & OPTIMAL TREATMENT APPROACHES IN ORTHOPEDIC TRAUMA & SPINE CARE AT AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL (AIH)
On May 10, 2025, the American International Hospital (AIH) held a scientific conference on the topic "Orthopedic Trauma & Spine Care: Latest advances & Optimal treatment approaches." The event attracted nearly 100 doctors from major hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region, marking an important step forward in training and updating professional knowledge in the field of orthopedics & traumatology and spine.
Participating in the presentations and discussions at the conference were leading experts from HCMC University Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Raffles Hospital Singapore, and American International Hospital.

Opening the program, MSc. Dr. Nguyen Hong Trung – Medical Director, American International Hospital (AIH) stated: “Orthopedic trauma and musculoskeletal diseases, especially spinal conditions, are increasingly prevalent, and Vietnam is among the countries with the highest rates of musculoskeletal diseases in the region. Facing this reality, the Board of Directors of American International Hospital (AIH) has oriented the Orthopedics Department as one of the key specialties for development, aiming to build a specialized, modern treatment center comparable to the regional level.”
Dr. Nguyen Hong Trung also affirmed the importance of research, training, and cooperation activities to update current advancements in the treatment of orthopedics, traumatology and spine, providing opportunities for leading experts to meet, share the latest achievements and practical experience, aiming to improve treatment outcome for patients.

At the conference, 10 in-depth topics were presented by 7 domestic and international speakers, focusing on the following subjects:
Multi-ligament injuries of the knee joint: Modern methods to facilitate quick recovery and return to high-performance sports.
Partial hip arthroplasty combined with steel suture for treating unstable intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly.
Optimizing knee joint longevity: Evidence-based methods to delay total knee arthroplasty.
Application of robots in joint replacement surgery.
Arterial embolism after hip arthroplasty – clinical case report
Diagnosis and management of scoliosis
Minimally invasive endoscopic spinal surgery: techniques and fusion – minimally percutaneous fixators
Principles of diagnosis and management of lumbarthrosis
Minimally invasive endoscopic spinal surgery – biportal endoscopy technique
Conservative treatment of crushed limbs in children using vacuum-assisted closure – clinical case report
