Prof. MD. Dr. RENÉ D. ESSER TOGETHER WITH THE AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL (AIH) IN PROVIDING FREE SURGERY FOR MANY CASES OF COMPLEX MUSCULOSKELETAL MALFORMATIONS IN CHILDREN

After successfully treating two children, H.T.L (8 years old) from the Van Kieu ethnic group in Quang Tri and N.Đ.D (3 years old) from the Co Tu ethnic group in Quang Nam, who suffered from severe congenital clubfoot in both legs, Prof. MD. Dr. Rene D. Esser and the American International Hospital (AIH) recognized that there are still many cases of minority ethnic children with congenital musculoskeletal malformations. However, due to financial difficulties, these children do not have the opportunity for timely examination and treatment, causing affects their motor function, mental condition, and upcoming life.

With the empathy and medical ethics of a health care provider, the American International Hospital (AIH) and Prof. MD. Dr. Rene D. Esser continue to collaborate with the volunteer group “Bạn thương nhau” to provide free treatment for complex musculoskeletal conditions in children with hardship, such as congenital clubfoot, ankle joint stiffness, quadriplegia, pes adductus, wrist and hand flexion contracture deformities… with the hope of giving these children the opportunity to access advanced treatment methods so that they can start a new, brighter, and more confident life.

 

Thanks to the enthusiastic support from volunteers, the children have traveled a long distance from the most disadvantaged communes of Quang Nam and Quang Tri provinces to AIH hospital to seek the normality.
 
Seeing the smiles and sparkling eyes of the children and their families, the American International Hospital (AIH) and Prof. MD. Dr. René D. Esser believe that with the wonders of modern medical advancements, along with the loving hearts of the medical team, new hope will be opened for these children. In the coming time, the highly specialized and experienced  orthopedists at AIH will continue to accompany and support in providing examinations and surgeries for children with hardship, especially in remote areas where medical cares are still limited. It is hoped that these practical activities will contribute to spreading positive values and working together to provide quality healthcare services to the community and society.
