VITAMIN A SUPPLEMENTATION PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN FROM 6 TO 35 MONTHS OLD AT AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL (AIH)
American International Hospital (AIH) cooperates with HCMC Department of Health to implement the Vitamin A supplementation program for children from 6 months to 35 months of age in phase 1, starting from June 1, 2024 until the amount of Vitamin A allocated by HCMC Department of Health runs out.
- Subjects: Children from 6 months to 35 months old.
- Location: Department of Pediatrics, 2nd Floor, American International Hospital (AIH)
Currently, Vitamin A 100,000 IU and 200,000 IU are available at AIH.
► Attentions:
- Children will be examined and consulted with a pediatrician before taking vitamin A supplements.
- You should bring your child's medical report book.

Vitamin A is an important micronutrient for the health and complete development of children, contributing to strengthening the immune system against infections. In addition, Vitamin A helps children see well and helps them distinguish colors. Therefore, if children are deficient in Vitamin A, it can lead to serious health problems such as reduced vision, immunodeficiency, and increased risk of infections such as skin infections, diarrhea, respiratory infections.
In order to prevent Vitamin A deficiency in children, the Ministry of Health organizes two rounds of Vitamin A supplementation every year in June and December. Parents are advised to take their children to the nearest healthcare facility for consultation and to receive Vitamin A according to the appropriate dosage.
