Therefore, it is necessary for you to know about the signs of teething and how to handle it in order to comfort your baby.
When does teething begin?
Teething normally begins when babies are between 6 and 10 months. For some babies, teething can begin earlier when they are around 4 months.
It is abnormal if your baby does not have any teeth by the time he/she is 15 months old. Talk to your doctor for proper examination.
Symptoms of teething
Some typical symptoms you may notice when your baby begins teething:
- Drooling
- Irritability
- Cries more than usual
- Biting
- Chewing
- Red and swollen gums
- Changes in feeding amount
- Inability to sleep
- Loss of appetite if your baby already eats solid foods

- Put sharp edge toys away as these can hurt your baby’s gums
- Do not use aspirin under any circumstances
- Do not rub your baby’s gums with alcohol
